Santa Monica DRTV Boot Camp Stresses Infomercial Production-Telemarketing Connection

(Austin, Texas)  The Direct Response Academy will present its cornerstone program, DRTV Management Boot Camp, in Santa Monica on October 28th and 29th.  DRTV Back-End Management: Where Profits Are Won & Lost, will be offered on October 30th.

“Our DRTV Boot Camp always gives an excellent overview of the direct response television marketing process,” said Greg Sarnow, Direct Response Academy CEO and course leader.  “But here’s something that’s rarely discussed.  In DRTV, marketers put so much into creating an irresistable offer and a great informercial.  They just don’t consider how the phone will be answered when the calls pour in.  If you think about it, it’s a real problem if the agents don’t know how to make a sale – especially for a soft offer.”

Sarnow continues, “We’re going to look at the entire sales process – from what’s featured in the infomercial to what’s scripted for the telemarketing agents. And in the Back-End Management program, we’ll drill down deep into the nitty gritty details to really drive the point home.”

Both courses were created for marketing and advertising managers, as well as inventors, entrepreneurs, and DRTV vendors and service providers.

Participants in the DRTV Management Boot Camp will learn to:

  • Determine product feasibility
  • Build a compelling product offer
  • Choose the best creative approach and production format
  • Build a sound financial model
  • Analyze media results
  • Maximize effectiveness of telemarketing and fulfillment vendors
  • Integrate web sales with a DRTV campaign
  • Brand DRTV products for retail sell-through

The Back-End Management course picks up where the Boot Camp ends.  Participants will concentrate on the behind-the-scenes details of the sales process, telemarketing, fulfillment, customer service, and financial components of a campaign.

The course will be held at the Doubletree Suites Santa Monica from October 28-30, 2008.  Discounted room rates available through September 27th.  For more information, contact Mark Warren at courses@directresponseacademy.com.  Or visit: www.DirectResponseAcademy.com/drtv_manage.htm.

And if you’re going to be in Las Vegas for either the ERA or DMA Show, meet Greg to discuss your DRTV project one-on-one.  Call (512) 901-5900 for an appointment.
